Ashley & Ryan: Classic Southern Romance

I spent one of the most of beautiful days of this fall photographing Ashley and Ryan’s wedding at Carnton Plantation. It was full of traditional southern charm, and it was breathtaking! Set in front of the historic Osage orange tree at sunset, friends and family listened and laughed to stories from Ashley and Ryan’s relationship and watched the two perform a sand ceremony. With the help of Kelly from Perfectly Placed, the couple had a lot of special touches that made their wedding personal and kept with the southern theme. I loved the mason jars that served as drinking glasses, the flowers in Ashley’s hair and travel-themed centerpieces. But by far my favorite thing was the mac-&-cheese bar - complete with ham, onions, mushrooms and pretty much anything else you could think of! With Carnton lit in the background, everyone danced up until the moment before the couple’s exit. What a fun group! Special thanks goes out to Kerri Crutchfield for assisting me and just being awesome to work with!
Ashley & Ryan - thank you for inviting me to be a part of your wedding day. Congratulations and enjoy your slideshow!

Sincerely,
Shannon

Jay & Miranda: Franklin, TN Wedding

I shot Jay & Miranda's engagement session a few months ago, so I was so excited to finally get to shoot their wedding. The couple had their private meeting (and reception) at Temple Hills Country Club, where Jay and many of his guests have been members for over a decade. All was going well until we were ordered inside due to lightning strikes in the area! Eventually my assistant Bennett and I were able to get some great shots of the couple and wedding party on the beautiful grounds. One of the greatest things about photographing weddings are all the unplanned moments that you, as the photographer get to capture. Jay and Miranda's wedding had several of those, but my absolute favorite was after the cake cutting. Jay spontaneously decided to go after Miranda with the wedding cake and without missing a beat, she turned full circle and pointed the cake knife, which was still in her hand, at him in self defense!

Jay and Miranda - congratulations and thank you for inviting me to be a part of your day. Enjoy!

Joel and Jessica: Canadian Bliss

I spent Labor Day weekend traveling to Ontario, Canada for Joel and Jessica’s destination wedding. Like so many great romances, Joel and Jessica had been friends (and co-workers) for years before they ever dated. It seems that everyone knew they were meant to be before they did - which means that when they finally said “I do,” it was a huge celebration! There was toasting, roasting, lots of laughter, dancing and many happy tears. This bride and groom have an incredible group of friends and family around them that were not only supportive of them tying the knot but also LOTS of fun. Special thanks also goes out to my unofficial tour guide for Ontario and assistant Loni Vanstone.

Joel and Jessica - thank you for inviting me to a part of your wedding day. Congratulations!

Sincerely,

Shannon
